Why does my induction hob make a buzzing noise?

I have just had a new induction hob fitted (Diplomat Elite AAA1473). I used it for the first time last night but on every ring being used, it made a 1-2 second buzzing noise every few seconds. If I removed the pan it stopped. I'm hoping this is a fault and not a 'design feature'!!

Hi there. I had the same problem with my Neff induction hob. Change your pans. That's the advice given to me by a Neff engineer. Have recently bought a set from a high end shop and have since returned them. Will ask Neff customer service to recommend suitable pans.

Lorraine,

I've just bought an induction hob too and have the same buzzing noise. I did some checking on the web and it seems to be the pan that does the buzzing not the hob. I tried a le Creuset pot and it didn't buzz.
