thanks to whoever gave that reply, i will have another look nxt week. found a snapped connector under frontof engine below alternator,dont know if its related to problem.

There is a sensor on the back of gearbox its white it colour just above where the driveshafts come out of gearbox it is wired into fusebox in vehicle which is a ecu as well it then sends the data from the sensor to the speedo unit engine ecu airbag ecu and abs ecu if fitted
