how to change a timing belt on renault megane scenic -engine K4M?

The timing belt on my renault snapped as I was parking it up, any tips or information on changing the belts

I agree. I have done the timing belt on my megane with K4M engine, not an easy job and mine hadnt snappe. Unless you are completely compitent with the stripping and rebuilding of modern engines, I would advise seeking professional assistance as James described, a snapped timing belt will have certainly bent the valves and can also cause a multitude of other damage

You will need a Haynes or some other comprehensive manual. You will have to be a pretty competent diy mechanic. You do realise that it will not be just timing belt replacement, the head will have to come off and the valves that have undoubtedly been bent will have to be replaced. A special screw in pin for TDC is required for K4M engine. Cam holding bracket is also req. (can be diy made with some angled steel and bolts if you have a drill and grinder).
