stove ignitor won't stop clicking?

Can I cut the wire to stovetop ignitor? It won't stop clicking when the oven is on. (weird cause ignitor is to stovetop burner, not oven and doesn't even turn off when that burner is on)
Anyway, I can't get to back of stove to disconnect, so can I cut it , as long as I turn off electricity first? Please help!
click....click.....click.....click......ahhhhhhhhh! Don't have money to repair - don't mind manually lighting - just need clicking to stop! lol

If the ignitors on a gas stove top continuously spark and only stop when the electricity is turned off the problem may be a stuck relay. Turn off the electricity for a long period of time perhaps overnight. Sometimes the relay will automatically reset.

Rather than cut the wire you are better off just turning the power off at the plug. The only problem is if the oven has a solenoid that requires power.By turning the power off the oven will go out.Make sure the spark electrode and wire in the oven are clean.Usually if they get dirty or the lead breaks the ign carries on sparking.
