Singer 625 Issue with bobbin?

I have a Singer 625 that I have had for a while, it works great when it does work, but sometimes the top thread gets wound around the bobbin, then the machine will lock up. I have to pull all the thread out and start again. I have tried new needle, new bobbin, I even had it serviced, cleaned and oiled about 2 months ago and still having the same issue. Today no matter how many times I pull the thread out, it will not sew more than an inch or two without locking up again. Any ideas?

I found out what I think the issue is, it looks like there is a break in the metal of the bobbin case.

I ordered a new one, so if I am still having the same problem after putting in the new casing, I'll send you an email. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my question.

Hello Nicole,
Thread the machine up top and bottom and open the slide plate, take and hold the threads to the back and turn the balance wheel towards you all the way over to form a stitch and see what is happenning at the bobbin, if the thread is not clearing the bobbin you may need to retime it, check to make sure the winder is all the way down if it is a self winding bobbin, if you need timing instructions you can e-mail me below and I will attach them.
