1) Enter SERVICE MODE By pressing Menu-Scan-Copy-Scan
2) Enter NVRAM by presing (Left) or (right) then OK
3)SET ABS-M LEVEL TO 0
4)OK

try unplugging all the leads ie power / usb- open front cover then whilst holding the power button down- re-connect the power lead- the actual ink absorber is in fact a bit of sponge in the bottom of the machine- what you are reading is infact a programme put into the printer that works by counting the sheets of paper-
