How can i fix renault scenic alarm?

when setting the alarm on my renault scenic 1.9dci 2004 there is a high pitched buzzing noise from the rear of the car. This lasts for around 45secs.It will also stop if you press the unlock boot button. Is this a boot sensor problem? if so where is it located?

Where is the bonnet switch? I can't find it?

Thanks,

Eddie

I had the same high pitched noise from the rear of my 54 Grand Scenic. There is a switch that is held down by the bonnet that probably is the cause. Open the bonnet and you will find a plastic pin close to the bonnet catch sticking up. Lock the car with the bonnet open, you should get the noise, hold down the pin, if it stops there is not enough pressure on it from the bonnet. on mine the foam pad had worn - small piece of plasic and gaffa tape - sorted.

had the same problem with my 54 reg Scenic, bought a couple of weeks ago. Every time I locked the car it emitted a high pitched noise/sound/whistle. While looking for the source of the noise I inadvertently leaned on the bonnet and the noise stopped. When I took my hand off again it started again. I lifted the bonnet and found there were two silver contacts on the underside of the bonnet. I guessed that one of these was being held away from the main body, then found there are two round adjustable rubber dampers on either side of the engine compartment. I screwed these down a bit (you can adjust them by hand) so that the bonnet would go further down and now the noise has stopped.

I guess the noise is to warn you that something hasn't closed properly. Worth checking the above before taking the car in to a garrage.

I am having very similar problems with my 2003 Scenic which co-incidently is also a 1.9DCi. Did you manage to resolve the problem?

HI there you need to check the bonnet switch to see if a rubber spacer is fitted to the switch if not you need to have one fitted, then you need to check that the ultra sonics in the boot area, are in tact, if they are ok then you will need to have someone to have a look at the alarm system for further diagnosis.
