Which adhesive is best to repair china?

I just broke the lid to a tea pot into 3 pieces. Which glue should I use to repair it?

It really depends on what the ceramic is, if porous you would use a solvent based glue to stabilize, then use an epoxy, if porcelain an epoxy.

Superglue should be avoided as should you wish to have it properly restored at a later date, could increase the cost of repair.

It shouldne said that really, you should not use things that have been repaired, as heat can soften epoxy glue repairs so if it was a
Teapot handle, you can imagine the concequences of it suddenly falling apart.

If it is an important or valuable piece, either sentimentally or financially, you could also consider taking it to a professional for repair.
