rover 25 heating problem?

blower switch only works on 3rd and 4th settings
bob, November 2008
heater element behind glove box has blown on settings one and two.you can buy replacements on ebay to solder on or send it off for a bit more cost. its a bit tricky to find but if you have a haynes manuel it tells you where it is in the car . mine works fine now.warm for winter.

This is caused by failure of some resistors in a resistor pack which can be got at by removing the glove box assembly. You can buy the correct resistors on eBay with instructions on how to fit them. If you can solder things and use a screwdriver, you'll be fine. Speed Setting 4 will only fail if the heater blower itself develops a fault. This is an easy DIY job!
