Bosch Tumble Dryer not heating?

Our 7 year old WTA 3100 Bosch Tumble Dryer has stopped heating, The drum turns OK and air is expelled out of the outlet. Is this easily fixable?

I've now fixed it...

You need to;

1 - unplug it!
2 - Pull it out and get round to the back of it.
3 - Remove the cover on the back, that is kind of figure of eight shaped and covers much of the back of tumble dryer.
4 - unscrew the self-tapping screws. There are about 12/13 of them all around the circumference of the cover. You will require a TORX headed screwdriver to undo them (star-shaped).
5 - WIth the cover off, and to the top of the opening, you will see two relays sitting on the back. The one on the left has a red push button on it.
6 - Push the red button - it should click. If it doesn't - this wasn't the problem. Assuming it has clicked, reassemble and start drying again!

The red button is a safety reset that kicks in if the unit overheats or becomes too gunked with fluff etc. Therefore, make sure the venting flex is completely clear, and hover up as much dust and fluff as you possibly can to clean the system up. This will help to prevent it from happening again anytime soon.....

When you reinstall the T/D, make sure that the venting flex is not crimped or blocked between the back of the T/D and your hole in the wall.....

If the red button didn't click - you've got another problem, which will probably either be one of the two relays or possibly the heater element itself that will probably require replacement. This will probably be an engineer job unless you know what you're doing.

Good luck!

Did you fix this? I have the exact same tumble dryer and the exact same problem....

I've been reading that there is probably a reset button inside the machine (where the heater cover needs to be taken off to access it), and I'll be trying this shortly....

Other than that, it looks like a part might have gone (perhaps the heater element?)
