if u need a new start motor just go to the scrap yards its £20 so u ll get a good deal otherwise refurbished will be too much

I fitted one from a scrap yard to my 95 M laguna. Pain in the ass to get to the starter motor bolts - you have to remove the air filter to get to them, and I spent most of my time under the engine - took a couple of hours but it is do-able. And the starter motor cost me 25 quid.

Sorry to be blunt but I had the same problem and the brushes on the starter have gone. You need a new one, they're about £60 on exchange policy of your old one. If you're mechanically minded and have decent tools, it's not too hard. If you're not experienced, don't even bother - it's more hastle then it's worth, believe me!
