what is causing loss of power NISSAN ALMERA P. REG?

P. Reg nissan almera 1.4cc. Loses power on acceleration climbing small hills and banks. Makes noise like air being sucked into engine. Exhaust is ok. Fuel feed is ok. Any ideas what could cause this problem?

This sounds very similar to a problem i had and a new clutch plate solved it. It wasn't too expensive either.
