brake squeal?

I have a Renault Megane,30,000 miles,and I have an annoying intermittent squeal from my offside front disc pad.
When I am turning into my drive,braking gently,it tends to kick in.
Is this a sign my pads need replacing?
Otherwise the brakes seem fine.
