z & x readings for stock take?

If I do a z or x reading will it be able to tell me how many of each product i have sold and how far back will the results go (3 months?).
Need this info for my stock take!

Hi. Yes, all registers will tell you how many items were sold on X or Z reports. They will total up since the last time a Z report was taken. If you do a Z every day, then the counters will be reset daily. If you do a z weekly, then they will have a weeks worth etc. Some machines have a Z2 memory that you can use for periodic reports. The problem is, you will have to reset the Z2 every three months if you want reports for that period.

I hope this makes sense.
