how can i fix my boat floor?

i have a fibreglass boat that is really old and has a soft floor in it. the outer hull is perfect just the floor inside is bad. what is the best way to restore the boat. Can i fibreglass over existing or should i cut up complete floor and start again.

I know of a place to buy discount boat supplies at http://boatandfloat.com. We have had friends go through them and they've been satisfied. They may have what you're looking for. Good luck!

if you just want to sell, use the quick cover up and carpet.but if your going to keep your boat do it right.cut up the bad flooring and replace it all.........

I agree with the second opinion. I have done 2 boat floors and it is alot of work to rip out the existing, It will be worth it in the end. Do it right and it will last you 10 years. Do a makeover you might get 3.

I'd cut up the floor , what you are feeling there is called dry rot . it comes from the wood being wet and dry , wet and dry and never really drying out . if you fiberglass over it , you'll still have the soft floor and the glass with not hold well, and over time the wood will rot away inside the glass
