MERCEDES 311CDI SPINTER VAN POWER LOSS?

power loss on 2003 sprinter 311cdi lbw?
Occasional power loss when driving unable to accelerate above 3000 rpm.
Maintains speed but nothing when you try to accelerate.
When you stop and turn off engine then restart everything returns to normal.

I have the same problem, changed the boost control valve no change. Seemed to come on after changing the fuel filter and all the ancillary pipes/ fittings. Van runs lovely to about 50 miles then power and revs drop. I had the heater on last week and van went 150miles no issue - so I suspect either a fuel air blockage that develops when it comes up to temp or some sort of cooling system fault, but struggling to find which. Paid to have the codes read but so many it was a joke- am pretty sure I don't have a crank fault with 70k on the clock ! So what's the best way to get air out of the fuel system before I start on the merry go round that is Mercedes dealer ships?

hi ive also got a problem, up the first hill of the day but not everyday, loss of power, exhaust seems to sound louder and a stronger whistle from the turbo when i take my foot off, also a smell of un burnt fuel, could it be a dodgy exhaust box or cat?
it runs fine after i turn it off and back on, been plugged in at the merc garage and a new turbo control valve was fitted, van seemed fine for a week but same problem on same hill today, any help please as i dont want to be paying the £55+vat per hour again and again.

This has just happened on mine, go up a slight hill, and you go backwards.
Nasty when towing a race car.

So we are saying it's the boost control valve.

I have a 2000 311cdi, driving me mad.

common fault is the boost control valve it is located below drivers headlight under air box it has a multiplug on it and a pipe going to turbo we have changed lots of these for the same symptons
