Need help with non-working memory pen?

I have been using a usb memory pen for 5 years. foolishy I haven't ejected it safely and so have paid the price. As a result my usb pen isn't being recongised. My work is on that pen and all i'm asking is if theres a way to get my pen working again. If not then tell me if theres a way I can retrieve my files from it. Help would be most appreciated.

Michael, I tried running TestDisk, but my problem is, my USB does not appear on the log (or anywhere else for that matter). I desperately need to recover the information from my pen drive, but it just doesn't seem to be recognized by any program. Do you have any suggestions?

Try testdisk from http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

Running the tool:
Create log>Select usb pen drive>intel>Advanced>Boot

Try rebuilding the boot sector & MFT from its back up.
