where can i purchase a ford mondeo 1.8 LX 2008 bonnet lock barrel/key from please

this has just happened to me, the mechanic had to break the lock on my request so that he could open the bonnet. he has now fixed the problem he was working on, but now i cant open the bonnet due to it being closed and the barrel being taken out!
The mechanic wont fix this as he cant get open the bonnet!

My 53 plate mondeo bonnet lock has just stopped working... not happy as it looks like it'll be either a dead fiddly or dead cost (especially at a ford dealership!) job to fix. think i'll try myself 1st by cutting behind badge, drilling a bit and seeing how it goes... would love watchdog to do something about these as it looks like its a very very common fault!

A mechanic neighbour of mine has just managed to release the bonnet without smashing the Grille although it took him nearly two hours. He took off the panel underneath to gain access and he then had to take off a black box that was protecting the lock, he fiddled and fiddled and then he got me to lift the bonnet as he did something to the back of the lock. We've now taken the lock out although this was a nightmare as well as they use shear bolts that have no heads so he had to drill them out.

the bonnet lock system is faulty on all mondeo cars.

i have sent an email to watchdog. Can you also send one

if we have enough complaints to them they may force ford into taking action.

2 ford dealers yesterday quoted me Hundreds £££ to smash the bonnet in order to release the bonnet lock on my mondeo
