Ford Fiesta Mk 6 Bonnet lock?

I have replaced the bonnet lock but it will not shut properly. I have also had the battery disconected. Is the bonnet lock security alarmed and is this why it will not shut? This sounds stupid but have been playing with this all day! It closes on the fist catch but will not shut completely - help
