Why Windows Media Player 11 plays audio but no video?

Windows Media Player 11 plays audio but no video, same file works fine on same computer using Media Player Classic. can you help? Do you have an answer for this?

You do not have the right codecs installed to view the video. The easiest way to fix this without knowing how the video is encoded is to install and use VLC media player.

Its small, free and plays pretty much anything.
