change griddle element on rangemaster 110?

How do change the griddle element on a Rangemaster 110 electric cooker, Just change the grill elements which was pretty easy but the griddle element looks near on impossible without taking the entire cooker to pieces.
Why couldn't they of just put a small removable plate at the back so you could get to it.

glenns method worked for me though you do need a bit of determination to remove the top left section

yeah but only if you take the two screws out of the back of the hotplate as well, otherwise it wont slide !
glenns screws must have been missing.
Theres four screws to remove when they leave the factory.

Sussed it, You take the two screw's out just to the left of the griddle and then pull the right hand side of the oven top a inch to the right and hey'presto the top lifts off and you can disconnect the old griddle element.
