rear wheel bearing ford focus?

how to test rear wheel bearings on a ford focus
tony davilar, November 2008
If you think the bearing is gone it probably is Focus wheel bearings are a very common problem. Jack the car up and release the handbrake grab the wheel top and bottom and rock the wheel. If there is movement the bearing is gone. There would also be a humming noise getting louder as speed increases. Try tightening the centre nut tighter it should get you some more time. rear bearings are simple to change and quick but you might need a press to remove and install the bearings. make sure to get the centre nut new as you may have to destroy the nut to get it off as they are a series of nuts encased in an outer metal case that a socket can fit over.
