How can I unlock the boot of my Nissan Almera?

The Nissan Almera hatchback boot is locked and I am unable to unlock it using the key fob. All other doors work properly. Is there a manual release mechanism?

This happend to us and what had happend is the cabble from the door handle to the release mechenism had snaped. So i removed all plastic coverings on the inside of the boot door. It can take a lot of effort and fiddling about. Then i got gear cabble from a bycicle and fitted it in . I did this by removing the the top half of the cable that had snapped. Then using electrical wire conectors, connected the lower wire (thats still attached to the release mechanism) to the new cabble. Then connected the new wire to the handle mechanism by using a combination of a small bracket with nuts and bolts. you will need to try a few times because its hard to get the tension right. A real fidelley bodge job but mine still works today.
