i have an indesit washing machine WIXXL146?

I have an indesit washing machine WIXXL146. 1yr.old. It vibrates badly, as someone said 'it goes banana's'
the higher the spin speed the more it vibrates. The spin regulator is in operation, as speed variants are evident. On looking at the back of appliance and removing the inspection plate, it was noticed that one of the 'shock absorbers' this is what they appear to be, was not working as well, not moving up and down in its casing. There are two, one each side at the back of the WM. Could this be the problem? Are they fairly simple to replace. Our warranty ran out 2 weeks age

Sounds like one of the absorbers is jammed. they are simple sliders which suppress the oscillations by the friction of the slider sleeves, flow of damping oil through a restricted valve or restricted airflow within the unit. They are generally mounted with nuts or bolts at the top and bottom of the unit. Remove the one which is giving the problem. Try greasing it if its a non sealed type, otherwise replace it.
