Thanks to Neil from Tritec alarms for replying, the Scantronic alarm system will not reset,this is following a very kind double glazing installer who cut through the alarm wires, there was a recessed sensor,which i have replaced with a new surface mounted sensor,i have carried out a continuity test and this seems okay ,the alarm will still not set.
Is there a special code in addition to the normal door entry code for resetting the system

your cable must still be damaged, have you checked the resistance across your tamper and alarm cores. short them out at the sensor then go back and try and reset the system, good luck
