volkswagen golf alarm keeps going off?

My 2001 golf tdi alarm keeps going off. This has only happened since I gave someone a jump start today.

I assume it is the same as an AUDI A3 which broke my heart, and the local spark, I disconnected the battery in the boot, and the multi plug which controls the alarm system. be carefull, this could be a problem if someone steals your car,
