Fridge not working?

I'm hoping its my thermostat so please Is it fairly easy to change a thermostat. I have the part number etc, I would just like to know if its complicated to change.

How do you know it is the thermostat?
Is the fridge running at all, have a listen, and if it is can you see any frost in the ice box if it has one. If not is it running for any length of time at all or continually stopping/starting.

It's USUALLY the thermostat and that's quite straightforward to change, particularly if you can get the precise replacement part. I recently did one with a generic replacement part which was OK but the capillary pipe was longer and needed coiling up and the lucar connectors were a different size so I had to swap them around.
