My aeg lavamat w1250 electronic washing machine does not let water in ?

My aeg lavamat w1250 electronic washing machine does not let water in. I have disconnected the pipe and cleaned both filters and also checked that the pipe is clear. I would imagine it is one of the 'switches' that opens and closes the valves in the machine itself and have taken the top cover off to find two of them. Can I remove them individually (I see they screw in) or do I have to remove and replace the whole unit - that is if that is acctually the problem. What else could it be? - and yes the tap is turned open.

I am a female so please answer in layman terms. Thanks in advance for the assistance

Hi. Replace the inlet valves. Theyre cheap enough parts. If located in the uk:

www.ukapplianceparts.com
http://www.domesticspares.co.uk

or simply go into google and type in "washing machine spare parts" - selecting "pages from uk".
