Had same problem with out 1997 Holden Vectra. We pressed the two buttons on fob, put key in car ignition & turn on to auxillary. It jumped into life then & works quite normally now, like it reset or re-programmed itself.

Any other ideas please!!!!! I have a 2000 vectra b petrol which the remote locking has stopped working, now i went camping and left the boot open for a few hrs like someone has said, since then it has not worked. I have changed the batteries in both remotes, tried to re-program with ignition on, taken the kick panel off and unplugged the reciever unit but still no joy, now totally out of options. Many thanks in advance for any help.

This works for vectra 2002: put the key in the ignition and turn until the ignition light comes on without turning the engine on. leave the driver's door open. Keeping the key in the ignition, press the open and then lock pads on your key. If you hear the door locks moving, problem solved (it has reset to the specific frequency of your key).

Chris, July 2012
i could only unlock the drivers door and the boot with the key manually so i took off the panel cover on the drivers side by the feet and pulled the plug out of the only box in there just a little bit then pushed it back in,now all door locks are working perfectly and am able to use the key remote aswell

Thank you so much!
I thought it was to much of a coincidence for 2 batteries to die on two key fobs!
I put the key in the ignition, not fully, just until the dash lit up then pressed open and close a few times and it worked!

My Holden Vectra 1998 2.0litre Pertol, has central locking but only some of the doors work. i have reset it but all the right side doors work then the second time. think i maight have to bring it to a electric doors n windows service garage to sort it out. so annoying!!! hopefully he'l fix it.....?
Anyone got ne further ideas on how to sovle this problem before i get it serviced electrically.
I was considering installing a central locking kit myself but it'll take alot of time n i'm afraid i'l break somethin.

I have a 1996 vectra, no remote, but central locking via key in drivers door. Today the passenger and rear passenger side doors just suddenly stopped working, will not lock / unlock on entire passenger side both front and back. Anyoen any ideas on this issue? Opel wanted to charge me €90 ex VAT just to look at it. The keys I have are identical, there are NO buttons on the keys at all for remote locking / unlocking. Can anyone tell me how to RESET the central locking system?

i had a problem today that all doors had dead locked only drivers door would open with the key,and all others would not open not even from inside,so i had to call out a mobile auto electrics,he had taken the drivers door panel off and also a panel down by the drivers feet on the right, this is the unit for the central locking he did try a few things but the one thing that worked was, pull out the plug in this unit and put back in.but you need todo this a few time and what it does is takes the power off then like jump starts it when power is put back on,so a recap down at drivers feet pull off door rim take off panel square unit with 2 plugs in and just pull out,put back in a few times and this released my doors

This 100% works on 1997 Vectra, turn key to pre-ignition (lights on dashboard) phase, open drivers door, press both lovkinh keys at once. The mechanism jumps into life at this point. Remove keys then try opening and closing a few times. Excellent.

Y Reg Corsa - Central locking will not work with key although when I press the open button on key fob the light flashes, but it will not open the door, so if i open manually the alarm comes on and when i get into the car and switch on engine and press the open on key fob it's fine and the alarm stops.

Rama, October 2008

On my Vectra B the indicators only flash when the key fob is pressed when they feel like it, like theres a loose connection... is there a main relay or plug that would cause this it only works like 2 times out of 10.

Keeping the key in the ignition, press the open and then lock pads on your key. If you hear the door locks moving, problem solved (it has reset to the specific frequency of your key) - if not, I haven't a clue.

I have the same problem on my 1997 Hyundai Accent Coupe. I installed the central locking kit myself so I know that the connections are all good and both the remotes work. It worked fine for the last six months but a couple of days ago it just stopped working. The funny thing is it will lock via remote if I manually unlock both doors, but it won't unlock again.

Anyway, back to answering your question. I think maybe the solenoid motors in the doors may be frozen/not functioning properly. The cold weather the only thing I can think of that has changed recently in my circumstances.

What I'm gonna do is pop both the door cards off and get to the motors and see if there is an obvious visible problem. If there isn't one (and I'm sure there won't be) I will spray some WD40 onto the motors which should keep the damp out. If that doesn't work I will be very p*****d off!!!!! And I'll have to back to the drawing board. Anyone else got any ideas?
