Hot water cylinder?

I live in France. I have the usual 'Master' water heater. It has a fault that I could by-pass if I could take its supply leads to a plug which would be connected to a timer switch wall socket, to enable it to run during the cheap rate power supply. I feel that this would be feasible. Type number, serial number and basic connections' diagram - from the maker's plate - are all available, if required.

I'd talk to some locals for advice to ensure you don't contravene local water / electric laws. You should also consider whether you may overload your socket wiring and possibly even the timer you propose to use.
