How can program the Samsung ER 290 cash register?

I am unable to program this cash register as it is displaying CLOSED and I do not know how to unlock it as I do not have a CLERK key. Please help. I did follow instructions on how to program and then this message displayed when I turn the key to REG mode

Hi.
It is waiting for a clerk to log on. The clerk button on this model should be next to the feed button.
Try pressing 1 then CLERK. If it doesn't work, then someone may have set a clerk password.
