Lawnmower DIY?

I have a Quattro 40 Victa / Briggs & Stratton lawnmower. Whenever its running, it will rev up and down. I've been advised that its probably a dirty carb, but am having trouble locating a detailed diagram of the motor as a reference.

Can anyone give me a blow by blow of how to get into the carb and clean it and / or and other likely solutions to this problem?

Thanks

You need a new carb diaphragm to start with. Repair manuals for briggs engines are at an abundence on ebay.
