How can I clear the service message on my 2004 BMW 525i?

My BMW 525i tis telling me it needs new brake pads which, on inspection, it doesn't. How can I tell the computer that the brake pads are ok?

if its an e60 model ul need to reset it through condition based service module with either gt1 or winstar diagnostic.

Are you sure? Try disconnecting the pad sensors (fitted diagonally front and back). If the warning clears then a sensor must have been in contact with the brake disc - they do this before the pads have completely worn out.
