Waiting TX likely means it's waiting for the other fax to respond. Then comes the 'hanshake' and then your fax will start.
It is possible that there is no fax at the other end, or not set to respond automatically.
When ready to send, you can try dialing the fax number with the receiver off, as if you were making a regular phone call.
If there is no fax, you'll hear only ringing on the other end.
If there is a fax on the other end, you will hear a series of 'chirps' after a few rings.
Then press the 'Start' button and hang up.
