How can I fix my AEG OKO Favorit 5040 Dishwasher?

The water has stopped going into the dishwasher. The pump is working. When I manually move on the dial it just continues to run without water. I have to turn off the power to stop it.

if the pump runs when it is switched off at the appliance then you have water in the base.tip machine and get water out the base and see if it works after doing this.
