My sons Piaggio keeps stalling?

My son says he has to keep the revs up otherwise if he's at the red light and takes his hands off to rest them it stalls what could be wrong????

tickover to slow adjust at carb. or throttle cable.

hi jackie,the carb may need cleaning,sound's like there's dirt in the main jet, note if you repair this your self do not push anything into the jet this can damage the jet,use compressed air,from a tyre valve if need be,
