Escort van rear hub removal (2002)?

I cant see how to remove hub for brake inspection,it is different on the escort van as it has no screws,the grease hub in middle will not come off,have tried but will damage if i continue,there is a small bit on it almost like a wheel balancing weight is that anything to do with it? please help! thanks

drum is seperate, the serrated type washer on one of the studs can be removed and discarded [its only there to stop drum falling off when vehicle was being built]. drums become tight on hub and may req some wd40 or a little heat [but not together-flammable] a good tap on drum between studs may also release it. make sure shoes have been de adjusted through back plate if drum is tight to turn.
