How do I stop my 6 year old Jenn Air ref. from icing and thereby no allowin?

I have jenn air ref. 6 years old and comtinues to "ice up" - works OK after I clear up the icing but then ices again - what should I look for ?

First lets determine if we are talking about "ice" or caked "frost". Ice is water that has frozen.
Ice will be the frost that has been melted by the defrost heaters which should automatically come on to melt the frost. The melted frost turns to water and should then go out a drain to under the frig where the water evaporates.
If the drain hole in the freezer is clogged up the melted frost (water) will sit in the drain trough and because it is in the freezer it will turn to a block of ice.
If you have a frost build up then you have to look for a problem with the defrost system.
Either a bad defrost heater, bad defrost terminator or bad defrost timer (ADC board).

Icing up is normally about one of 2 issues

1. Either there is not adequate ventilationt o the cooling radiator behing the fridge.
2. Sometimes the drain grommets get blocked with food stuffs or ice initiating the problem, check at the rear of the fridge look for little tubes leading to a tray these route should be traceable intot he fridge/freezer housing for proper operation.
