fiat punto cooling system?

my mk1 punto has an airlock in the cooling system, what is the best way to solve it???
c galliers, December 2008
Remove the radiator cap while engine is cold then start your car, let the coolant (anitfreeze) warm up, turn on the heater and watch the coolant level.

What you are doing is allowing the coolant to circulate through the engine without any backpressure, and it will allow the air to "burp" out and the coolant level should drop allowing you to top it up with additional coolant or hot water (not cold)

Sometimes helps if your car is facing uphill while doing this.

there should be a bleed screw on the pipework..it will be black and on the pipework somewhere.......fire up car.......remove top to water bottle.....undo screw slowly you..... dont have to remove it.........let air out...remember to keep the water bottle topped up otherwise youll be feeding more air in.....you'll know when its done as it should be a constant stream of water...no bubbling and no spluttering....WARNING!!!!remember the car could be getting hot...dont burn yourself........good luck
