my hot water tap does not work when i turn the tap on nothing comes out but the cold tap is fine. could you please help me with this

i have the same problem. i live in a mobile home and it is well below freezing outside, but the cold water will run and nothing comes out the hot water tap. it worked early today but no longer. i have a gas powered water heater and it gets extremely cold in my room (where the hot water heater is) so i put a space heater in there trying to fix the problem thinking maybe some pipe is frozen????? lol i am not a plumber. if anybody could help that would be great. thank you.

Thank you Renita, I had the same thing and I tapped on inlet and outlet and "BAM" there it was, back to normal.

same problem here and YES it's in the single digit! Midwest here. the cold does work and the hot does work in the kitchen but the cold works only in the bathroom. neither sink/tub hot faucet works....nothing comes out of it....any suggestion?

Just had same problem with my hot water heater. I am not a plumber but my grandfather is good at alot of things. He told me to turn on one of my faucets to hot and go to the water heater and tap the hot pipe with a small object. Do this very gently as not to break it but I could not believe that in seconds my hot water was working. He said it probably had a small clog. Hope that's some help.
