My indesit oven won't stay alight when you turn it on, I have been holding the knob in wit a piece of card but now tht doesn't even work!

It just flicks all the way back out when you let go of it and the gas goes out...I probably won't be able to get anyone out to fix it before xmas but obviously I need it for xmas day or we will be having a ready meal!!!

So please could someone let me know if it's easy to fix and if I can do it myself...thank you.

i have just been reading the problem kelly as with her gas cooker, i have the same problem with mine, also my husband as striped the cooker down but what we need is some form of manual to repair it and get it working again could you e-mail me with the instructions please on how to do this we would be very greatful for the help on this as i need my oven.

Probably a thermocouple Kelly and no im afraid its a stripdown to fix.
