Before you start make sure you are up to nearly dismantling the dryer. Most instructions elsewhere help to get the belt over the drum by loosening the front, but its the motor spindle which is the problem as it also drives some sort of fan. The fan housing requires dismantling so the belt can be slipped over the motor spindle. It does take a long time, took me the best part of a day and some care but it is possible. As I couldn't find any instructions anywhere else I hope this helps someone.
