Tried playing around with the balance switch but cant get the machine to do anything in any operation.

Having similar problem with my Simpson Espirit 750….It has stopped mid cycle and looks like a wiring or control panel issue? The lid switch clicks but is tripping my power supply and Ive had to reset it from the mains every time? Now it just won't work…mind you Ive had it for 15yrs…is it time to say goodbye?

When you lower the lid slowly, can you hear the lid switch click. Should happen about 20mm before lid is fully down. If no click then lid switch is not operating and machine will not start. It is either not in correct position or needs adjusting. Small adjusting nut at top of out of balance lever. Other possibility is the wiring harness which plugs in to underneath of control panel may be not making a good contact
