ford galaxy mk1 front blower fuse gets very hot?

when i turn my blower motor on to number 3 the fuse heats up when i turn to number 4 it gets so hot that the fuse has melted.i have replaced the resistor & checked the switch could the motor be at fault?

If you have a suitable multimeter you could put it in series with the motor and see what current it is drawing on its different settings. That would guide you as to the state of the motor.
Does the motor sound OK? Has something (leaf, twig etc) got in and created an extra load on it?

it sounds like a bad connection on fuse holder it will probably need replacing-maybe an auto electrician could replace it with a seperate fuse holder assy,or replace connectors in fusebox?
