JCB 3CX Fuel level sensor location ?

I need to get at the fuel sender in the diesel tank of my grey cab project 7 1990 JCB 3CX. I know it's on the left hand top of the tank (sitting in drivers seat) But all the grey thick rubbery plastic trim covers it and seems to have been put on before the cab was lowered into place. How the heck do you get at the fuel sender????

I just worked through the hole where the fan pipe is attached to the console, i also removed the cover over the brake master cylinders which allowed me to access all of the tiny bolts holding on the fuel sender, and then I pulled the fuel sender through where the fan piper is attached to the console

Mark thanks for that: I had a poke arround today - as you say awkward. Did you take the entire console surround off, or just work through the hole left by the instrument panel? andrew(at)mawson.org.uk

hi andrew, i have just today changed the fuel sender in my project 7. It is located under the heater pipe on the left hand side of the dash. Remove the mesh covering the heater pipe, move the heater pipe to one side and the fuel sender is located below. Its accessible but very awkward!
