had a new fuel pump, have taken it to dealer to have it coded the say that the thing wont accept the code and want £800 to replace the securuty key coding thing. am i being had over?

Im just having a new pump fitted to mine. Im lucky that it is at my nephews garage and im under the assumption he will code it with his diagnostics equipment but im pretty sure you can get it done by anyone that has a good diagnostics setup . Have you tried looking in your local phone book for mobile mechanics they usually have the gear onboard. I would be pleased to know the outcome ksuk1@msn.com
