I have a Hotpoint extra large capacity 7 cycle washer that has recently been getting stuck after the water from the soak cycle gets emptied out, and again when it should spin dry at the end of washing. Can I just take the dial off and clean it? Or is the spin motor going?

take the knob off and give it a clean and spray with some sort off lubricant see if that works any better
