how do i fix my zafira?

how do i replace rear brake pads on my vauxhall zafira
alan, November 2005
Handbrake off, undo the 2 mounting bolts at the rear of the caliper (locking the mounting bolt's nut with a thin spanner or small adjustable spanner). Remove caliper but do not let it hang on the brake hose at any time. Prise out pads with a screwdriver noting which way they come out. Remove mounting spring clips, clean assembly then loosen cap on master cylinder (if you have added brake fluid, some may have to be taken out using a pipette to stop it over flowing when you screw back the caliper piston). Screw caliper piston clockwise back to starting position i.e. fully in. Special tool is available but I used a set of pipe pliers. Fit new clips & pads, fit caliper, (check brake fluid level & replace master cylinder cap - to be done after fitting pads on the other side). Operate brake pedal until caliper locks. Apply handbrake.
