How do I stop bar oil from leaking out of my Stihl 026?

I have an 026 that was given to me and I can't figure out how to stop the bar oil from leaking out. I was told to lay the saw on it's side(didn't stop it) and to turn the adjuster for the oil flow all the way in when the saw isn't running. This last suggestion slowed the leak but didn't stop it, and I don't want to forget to readjust and thus, burn up the saw. It runs great and I'd hate to give it up if it can be repaired. Any Help?

you will always get a degree of oil which appears to be leaking from the underside of any chainsaw, but in reality this is just excess oil from the oil pump pipes which drains off when the pump has stopped when the machine is switched off- that is perfectly normal. If you are getting a continuous flow- even when the machine is not operating then you must have a hole in the oil feed pipe as the oil cannot continue to flow if the pump is not operational.
