whirlpool......15 yrs....never had an issue......discovered saoking wet clothes......machine fills with water.....empties....but does not agitate or spin.....makes wrrrrrrrrr.......hummming noise..........time to replace or fix..??
If it is a top loader it probably won't have a drive belt. There is often a rubber & plastic coupling between the motor & the gearbox drive shaft which breaks. Easy to fit & not too expensive.

Simple one here I think - and cheap! Sounds like your motor is turning nicely but the drive belt has broken. If you pull the machine out, disconnect and remove the top or rear cover I expect you will find the belt sitting at the bottom of the machine - 15 yrs is quite good really! If you can get a new belt and fit it yourself definitely worth doing!
